01What types of plate heat exchangers does KONTECH supply?

02What data is needed to select a plate heat exchanger?
An initial selection normally requires the fluids on both sides, flow rates, inlet and outlet temperatures, required thermal capacity, working and design pressures, and allowable pressure drop. For a replacement, a nameplate photo and an available drawing are also useful.
03Can a plate heat exchanger be selected only by thermal capacity?
Thermal capacity alone is not sufficient. Fluid properties, flow rates, inlet and outlet temperatures, pressure limits, allowable pressure drop, fouling tendency, footprint and connection requirements can all affect the suitable configuration.
04How do gasketed and brazed plate heat exchangers differ?
Gasketed units can be opened for inspection and changes to the plate pack, making them suitable where serviceability or future capacity adjustment matters. Brazed units are compact, non-dismantleable heat exchangers commonly used in HVAC, heat-pump, refrigeration and clean-process duties. The appropriate type depends on the operating conditions and fluids.
05Can SonFlow plate heat exchangers be used as condensers and evaporators?
SonFlow SFC units are designed for low-pressure vapour condensation and industrial evaporation processes. Separately, suitable brazed plate heat exchanger models can be selected for condenser or evaporator duties in refrigeration and heat-pump systems. Selection depends on the media or refrigerant, required capacity, temperatures, pressures and allowable pressure drop.
